You took a lot of important points about this interesting topic.&lt;br /&gt;Well, in my personal experience music plays an important role in animation, I always ask to the director about the music in the shots that I will animate, and I sometimes  request him the track or a similar track with a similar intention that the director wants for the shot or sequence. Then I will import the track in my software(Maya) and start to animate inspired in the music, not necessarily in musical rhythm, but with feeling, depth and the sense that it inspires me.&lt;br /&gt;It often works. But this is not a method, it&amp;#39;s just my way to help me to understand and recreate the sense of what is happening in my shot or sequence.&lt;br /&gt;...and talking about music in movies....
